Itinerary:
Mangrove Tunnel tours meet at Weedon Island Preserve in St. Petersburg. (Tour Times vary based on weather and the tides, call for current tour times)
-Try to arrive 10 mins before your tour.
-You then check in, get fitted with your lifevest, and we will go over some basic information and paddling technique.
-The tour follows a 4 mile marked canoe/kayak trail through pristine mangroves and saltwater bays. Total time on the the trail, about two and a half hours.
Manatee tours meet at Craig Park in Tarpon Springs. (Tour times vary based on weather and the tides, be sure to call well in advance of your desired date for information or to reserve your spot)
-Try to arrive 15-20 minutes before the tour to check in.
-Try to stretch and get warmed up for the paddle.
-The first 30-45 minutes will consist of fitting the gear, paddling instruction, and techniques.
-We will then paddle around in Spring Bayou, spend some time with the manatees. Then we will paddle north to the Anclote River and the famous sponge docks on Dodacanese Blvd. We will then enjoy the sunset over the sponge docks, and head back to the Craig Park boat launch. Total time on the water, about two and a half hours..
